Kensington Palace: While
Kensington
Palace remains a private Royal residence, the State Apartments and the
Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection are open to the public. The dress collection
for Princess Diana is on show until end March 2000.
Buckingham Palace:
Literally a short
walk away, this is the
official
residence of Her Majesty the Queen. The State Rooms are open to the
public during August and September - an excellent opportunity to marvel
at the lavish interiors and tread the very same floors as the Royal Family.
Ceremonies
State Opening of Parliament:
Procession
from Buckingham Palace to House of Lords, Westminster. After a general election
and before each new session of parliament in mid-November, the sovereign
